Discover Miami's newest museum | Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science

Just a 14 minute walk or 4 minute drive up Biscayne Blvd from YVE Hotel Miami, be sure to visit the new Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (next to Pérez Art Museum Miami), which opened to the public on May 8th! It is a leading science museum dedicated to sharing the power of science, sparking wonder and investigation, and fueling innovation for the future. Located in downtown Miami’s waterfront Museum Park, Frost Science is divided into four buildings: the Frost Planetarium, Aquarium, and North and West Wings. Here, guests can learn about the core science behind living systems, the solar system and known universe, the physics of flight, light and lasers, the biology of the human body and mind, and much more. Guests can explore the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in an experiential setting with interactive exhibitions and unique shows. Frost Science is also dedicated to education, earning national awards for its summer camps and after-school programs.

The cutting-edge 250-seat Frost Planetarium takes you on visual joyrides that both thrill and educate. Though it might seem like you’re really hurtling through space or weaving through a coral reef or DNA strand, that ultra-real immersive experience is the result of a 16-million-color 8K visual system using six 3D-capable projectors and surround sound.

From Gulf Stream sharks to the tiny organisms within coral, the Aquarium is a trip through the beautiful watery worlds of South Florida. The building works on three levels, beginning on the top Vista level where you travel the vibrant surface of habitats such as the Gulf Stream, Mangrove Forests and the Everglades.

Current exhibitions at the new Biscayne Bay museum include Feathers to the Stars, which carries the guest through the amazing story of how ancient evolution gave birth to animal flight, how humans used imagination and engineering to get airborne and how outer space is the next frontier, SEEING: What are you looking at?, MeLAB, which discusses the mind and body connection, River of Grass, about the precious Everglades, LASERsHOW and H2O Today.

The Frost Museum has so much to offer, and its convenient location puts it near a wide variety of other popular downtown attractions including the Miami Children’s Museum, Adrienne Arsht Center, American Airlines Arena, Bayside Marketplace, and more.

Don’t miss out on a minute of the fun in the heart of Miami - book your room at YVE today and be near all of the exciting exhibits, shows, and shopping!
