Of course I LOVE to shop!

Let's be honest, the food, nightlife, and the surf & sun are all great, but the real reason you came to Miami is for the incredible shopping. I'd be lying if I didn't tell you that it's one of the biggest reasons I live here. Not only is the variety of choices incredible, but also the prices are great all year long, especially if you're one my friends visiting from Europe or South America. There are so many great deals and so many great stores that it can be totally stressful figuring out how to squeeze it all in.

Here are a few great ideas to get your Miami shopping spree started.

What is your favorite store in Miami?

Well, I love fashion, but I have to admit that my favorite shop in Miami is a little place in Wynwood called Plant the Future that specializes in beautiful plant based sculptures, exquisite terrariums full of exotic cacti and whimsical botanical creations that never fail to leave me feeling inspired. It's well worth a visit, especially since it's right across the street from my favorite Miami coffee spot Panther Coffee.

What are your favorite fashion boutiques?

There’s probably never been a better reason to brave the Lincoln Road/South Beach scene than Alchemist, a true fashion destination. This luxury boutique manages to combine the worlds of fashion, architecture and design along with world class brands like Kenzo, Thom Browne, Junya Watannabe, and Celine. It's on the pricey side, but it's always a treat.

What about something that’s less pricey?

Miami is full of fashion bargains, but you don’t have to go to Sawgrass Mills to score some great values. There are lots of affordable fashion boutiques where you can enjoy some great shopping without the outlet crowds and without breaking the bank. Wynwood is a dynamic place with many boutiques where you can find great under‐the‐radar brands for great prices. I love their swimwear and fun hippie‐chic accessories.

What about for men?

Two great nearby options that couldn’t be more different are Sartorial in the Design District and Supply & Advise which is just a little further South. Sartorial is a great place to find chic men’s brands from up‐and‐coming designers as well as Italian classics. It's very curated and very special, especially at their new location. Supply & Advise is much more down to earth and specializes in quality craftsmanship, all‐American styling and rugged individualism. Both are amazing places to stock your wardrobe.

Where can I get a gorgeous bikini?

You came to Miami without a bikini? What were you thinking? No worries, we’ll soon remedy that. One of the best experience is also the closest. Orchid Boutique on the sixth floor of the Orchid building offers a unique experience that almost feels like shopping online since you make your initial picks on a computer before the staff bring you the real thing for a fitting. The selection is enormous!

Make sure to check out Ask YVE for some more of my favorite smaller shopping spots.
