With a new wedding season comes a new wedding specialist to the Wild Dunes Resort sales team - Corina Adaskaveg. She has traveled all around the United States to pursue her calling of weddings. Born in Connecticut. College at California State University, Northridge. First job in Los Angeles. Conference services in Miami. Opening hotel team in the Bahamas. Event sales back in Miami. Now she’s in Charleston with her husband, Jared, and puppy, Shuga, as the Catering Sales Manager at Wild Dunes, Charleston’s Island Resort.
We sat down with Corina to get to know her a little better. Here’s what she had to say!
What’s the best part of your job?
Working one-on-one with couples, learning their stories and what they envision for their special day, and coming up with creative ideas to bring their vision to life.
What sets Wild Dunes apart from other wedding venues?
We are an all-inclusive, gorgeous beach resort, set along sunny and scenic Isle of Palms with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. We are conveniently located 20 minutes away from downtown Charleston and are proud to employ some of the best staff and team members around. We pride ourselves on “service with a smile” and genuinely embody our Hyatt motto “we care for people so they can be their best.” I feel we offer something special for everyone who visits, and our wedding venues are tailored to reflect each couple’s personality to the fullest.
How many weddings does Wild Dunes host a year?
What are you most looking forward to about the new hotel?
I think the new hotel is going to put Wild Dunes on the map in a whole new way! It’s going to draw in a new wave of guests and couples looking for a more modern option within the historic city of Charleston. This new space is something Charleston has never seen before. The wedding rooftop location will offer a direct ocean view outdoor ceremony option, a covered terrace for cocktail hour, and a beach chic vibe ballroom with floor to ceiling windows and incredible accents and décor.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I spend quite a bit of time in front of the computer, on the phone, and on the ground meeting couples face to face and touring them around our property. I also create custom proposal estimates, and work hand in hand with our marketing team to create wedding promos, presence on social media, and get the word out about our amazing resort.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy relaxing on the beach, running, watching The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, and spending time with my family, hubby and puppy.
