Charly Rasheed
Director of Tennis
Charly grew up in Greer, South Carolina in a family of tennis players. In 1993 Charly won the boys 18s USTA Southern Doubles and Singles Championship. He finished that same year #5 in the country in doubles. Charly went on to play at Clemson from 1993-1995 and Ole Miss from 1995-1997 when he received a national ranking of #2 in the country. Charly has been PTR Certified since 1999. In 2003 Charly was a member of the Southern Section 5.5 team that won Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada and has been a member of the Southern Section Open team since that time. In 2004 he won USTA South Carolina Tennis Professional of the year and in 2005 he became Director of Tennis at Wild Dunes Resort In 2010 he published his first book Brain Alignment the Art of Focus in Tennis. In both 2010 and 2011 Charly was a member of the South Carolina Senior Cup 35s Team where both years he went undefeated in singles helping the team win both titles in the respected age group. In 2011 he won USTA South Carolina Male Player of the Year.
Shawn Harris
Head Tennis Professional
Shawn Harris has been the Head Tennis Professional at Wild Dunes Resort since 2005 with 22 years of tennis teaching experience, and is a USPTA certified teaching professional. Shawn is from Rochester, New York. He graduated from Monroe Community College where he earned his Associates Degree in Recreations and Leadership and played #1 singles and #1 doubles. He won the 1990 and 1991 national junior college athletic association Singles and Doubles regional championship and was ranked in the top 10 in the nation for junior colleges. Shawn then attended Brockport State to achieve his bachelors in Physical Education. Shawn worked at the Tennis Club of Rochester during his years in upstate New York before moving south in 1997 to Hilton Head Island S.C. to become the Assistant Head Pro at Palmetto Dunes Resort. In 2003 became the Head Tennis Professional at the South Carolina Yacht Club, and then finally in 2005 made his way to the wonderful Wild Dunes Resort as the Head Tennis Pro and is loving every minute of it. Shaw Tharpe
Tennis Professional
Shaw Tharpe has had a lifelong passion for the game of tennis. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Shaw learned everything about the game of tennis both on and off the court from Georgia hall of fame tennis instructor Jack Waters. Over the years Shaw has gone on to win many ALTA, Georgia, South Carolina, and Southern Section titles. Shaw's lifelong approach to learning the game is how he teaches the game. A Professional Tennis Registry Certified Instructor, Shaw has worked at Wild Dunes Resort for over 7 years. You can often find Shaw leading the Stroke and Drill clinics. He enjoys working with people of all skill levels. He has also spent time as Head of Tennis Court Maintenance at which time Wild Dunes Resort was awarded the southern section tournament of the year. Shaw is very proud to be a part of the Wild Dunes tennis team, and looks forward to hitting with you.

Jessie Rochefort
Tennis Professional
Jessie Rochefort is originally from Quebec, Canada, but grew up living all over the United States following her father as he played in the National Hockey League. She started playing tennis at the age of 12 in Bradenton Florida, where she trained at the IMG tennis academy founded by Nick Bolletierri. She trained under Nick Bolletierri himself, as well as with Martin Zumpft and a few other coaches. Jessie was recruited to play Division I tennis at the University of Arizona, where she played both singles and doubles. She was also head coach at the Southside Tennis Academy, which was named top summer camp in the Southwest by the SWTA in 2005 and 2007. After college, Jessie returned to IMG, where she coached for 2 years, working both with top juniors and adults.
