Craft Ales, Cool Cocktails & Coastal Color
Ever wondered where all those salty old beach folk go to quench their thirst after long days of sun, sand and surf? Or where you can catch the game on a Monday night after some happy hours shell hunting or surf-casting?
Wonder no longer. The Salty Goat is the best place to grab a friendly drink or two with the locals and the locals-in-spirit. It’s a place where the rules don’t matter all that much and where you’ll feel right at home in shorts and flip-flops or in a suit and tie. There’s a tasty selection of Carolina crafts to sample and we’ve put together a nice collection of Bourbons and small batch whiskeys as well. If you’re looking for something a little more creative, then try one of our out-of-the-box cocktail creations. Sure you can get all the tried-and-true favorites, but you’ll also find some provocative departures inspired by the flavors of the Low Country and the best of the season’s fresh ingredients.
At the Salty Goat, you can always count on a friendly island welcome, a game or two on the TVs and a laid-back, stay-a-little-while-longer vibe that you’ll love. Best of all, if you’re feeling a little famished there’s a whole menu of naughty (but nice) treats to explore. You’ll also get a healthy serving of island lore. Isle of Palm locals all know the legend of Goat Island, a small scrap of land a few hundred yards off the coast that was home to the mysterious Goat Man, his wife and a herd of wild goats. In 1931 this maverick couple gave up modern life and for more than 30 years lived off the land, tending their goats and getting by on whatever nature and the tides provided.
Their legend lives on and they remain role models for all those who want to escape the rules and forge their own path. We like to think that our anything goes attitude and damn the rules approach to cocktails is inspired by this plucky pair of rule-breaking free-spirits.
There's an abundance of award-winning cuisine in the Isle of Palms and Charleston area and Wild Dunes Resort is no exception.
