In the last few months, life has rapidly changed in ways we could have never imagined. We are learning and adapting to an ever-evolving “new normal”. As we find ourselves in an ever-changing environment, we are frequently tasked with making decisions on our operation. These decisions are made through a lens of care for our guests, colleagues, and community.
Here at Wild Dunes Resort, we have worked with Hyatt’s team focused on operations during the pandemic, complimented by Hyatt’s collaboration with medical experts from Cleveland Clinic and other trusted industry advisors to fine-tune COVID-era operating procedures. As a leader in the industry, you can trust that we have set the highest standards for safety. Our operating procedures are centered entirely around safety, transparency and trust. This approach allows guests to travel with complete confidence. From electrostatic spraying to extended unit rest periods between stays - our progressive precautions protect guests and colleagues alike, and will continue to evolve to meet the changing landscape. We offer the safest, cleanest accommodations in our area, with the security of our Hyatt Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment and Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation – the gold standard for prepared facilities.

Hyatt Global Cleanliness Accreditation
At Wild Dunes Resort, we have committed to following the Hyatt Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment, which further enhances existing operational guidance and resources around colleague and guest safety and peace of mind. This multilayered commitment builds upon existing rigorous protocols and includes an accreditation process by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC); colleague training and support resources; and a cross-functional working group of medical experts and industry professionals that will contribute to various aspects of the hotel experience.
Hyatt has introduced GBAC STAR(TM) accreditation through a performance-based cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention program that will focus on establishing hotel environments that are sanitary, safe and healthy. The GBAC STAR(TM) accreditation will include detailed training at more than 900 Hyatt hotels worldwide, and Hyatt intends to complement this with regular internal and third-party auditing. GBAC is a division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, and is composed of leaders in the area of microbial-pathogenic threat analysis and mitigation, designed specifically to deal with biological threats and real-time crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is a rapidly changing and sensitive situation. As we pay close attention to state and local mandates, we will provide the most up to date information we have regarding Resort operations on this page. For more information on the government orders, please see the following mandates (South Carolina and Isle of Palms).
