COVID-19 Health & Safety Precautions


Social Distancing & Masks

  • Following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, face masks or coverings may be required in hotel indoor public areas and when moving around in outdoor areas at Hyatt hotels globally, based on local or national mandates or guidance. For specific requirements, please contact the hotel directly. In light of this recent CDC and AHLA guidance, and after considerable review, we have updated our face coverings mandate for fully vaccinated guests and colleagues at Hyatt hotels in the U.S. Public areas may include hotel lobbies, elevators, meetings and events spaces when guests are not seated and socially distanced, restaurants and bars, and fitness centers. Some guests may be exempt from this mandate, including but not limited to guests with medical conditions, guests consuming food or beverages in restaurants, guests who are seated outdoors and socially distant, meetings and events guests who are seated and socially distant, and children under the age of two (2).   • Plexiglass shields have been installed in many areas to ensure safe social interaction.
  • Many thoroughfares have been converted for one-way passage, with clearly marked Enter/Exit signs.
  • Public space etiquette, including within elevators, includes capacity limitations. Signage is placed throughout indicating 
  • Many spaces have been carefully configured to limit gatherings. Flexibility in furniture configurations is not currently permitted.

Sanitation & Housekeeping

  • We partnered with a third-party COVID-19 response team to develop & execute enhanced COVID-19 health/safety protocol, complementing comprehensive guidance from Hyatt’s team focused on operations during the pandemic.
  • All areas of the resort are being rigorously & frequently disinfected with EPA-approved disinfectants and electrostatic foggers. Electrostatic technology disperses charged droplets that actively attract to surfaces and crevices for complete coverage, killing 99.9% of bacteria, including coronaviruses, within 5-seconds of deployment.
  • Safety precautions & disinfecting technology we have implemented at the Resort are the most comprehensive & effective among vacation rental agencies and hotels in our area.
  • Our colleagues wear full PPE when units are serviced.
  • Mid-stay housekeeping services have been suspended in most accommodations to reduce contact between guests & colleagues.
  • Procedures will continue to evolve to meet the changing landscape, based upon current health conditions and CDC/government regulations. 
  • Some items have been removed from accommodations for safety. These are available upon request and include:

    • Magazines
    • Spa Menu
    • Channel guide
    • Note pad & pen

Colleague Preparedness

  • Resort Colleagues undergo stringent COVID-19 training developed by Hyatt & a third-party COVID-19 expert to ensure a thorough understanding of safety protocol.
  • Temperature checks & pre-shift interviews are required of Resort colleagues each day.
  • A Resort Hygiene team, led by a Hyatt-trained Hygiene Manager, has been implemented to ensure that safety protocol & training is properly executed.
  • Contact-free concierge service is available 24/7 by sending requests via text message to 843.620.2162.
  • To ensure optimal social distancing across the Resort, some areas/amenities are temporarily unavailable or are operating with service limitations. For specific hours, text "HOURS" to 843.620.2162.

Dining Safety

  • Restaurants may have limited hours of operation during your time at the Resort.
  • Resort restaurants are all Palmetto Priority Certified. This state-led program is a formal commitment made by South Carolina restaurateurs to provide a clean and safe environment for their staff and customers to demonstrate the extensive precautions that they are taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
