The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are the world's highest botanical garden, located at 183 Gore Creek Drive, Vail, Colorado, United States, at an 8,200 feet (2,500 m) altitude in the Rocky Mountains. The Gardens are open to the public daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

A farmhouse perched between a montane meadow and the forested bank of Gore Creek houses the Vail Nature Center. This seven-acre facility in the heart of Vail is a tranquil gem whose knowledgeable staff hosts informative bird, wildflower and beaver pond tours and backcountry hikes. Classes covering special topics such as nature, art, stargazing and fly fishing are available. The Nature Center is open seven days per week from Memorial Day weekend through September. Groups and special events may arrange for tours by calling 970-479-2291.

When snow blankets the Vail Golf Club, it becomes the full-service Vail Nordic Center. Glide along 17 kilometers of daily-groomed skate and classic track, or snowshoe on 10 kilometers of scenic trails. NEW this year - check out our 13K of fat bike trails and fat bike rentals! The exceptional staff offers daily lessons on classic and skate skiing and specialty clinics on technique and tuning for adults and children, plus a wide variety of rental equipment is available. The Nordic Center also serves as a one-stop shop for all your backcountry needs including clothing, backpacks and snowshoes.
