Things To Do

Located at bustling Carillon Point right on the shores of Lake Washington, the Woodmark Hotel offers a wealth of activities—perfect for a Pacific Northwest vacation with your family or a group of friends. Lakeside walking trails, kayaks, and beach cruisers are just a few amenities that our guests can enjoy. Downtown Kirkland and Bellevue are just minutes away from our waterfront hotel, and fine dining, cafes, spa treatments, and shopping are at our doorstep in Carillon Point. As Seattle's premier lakeside retreat and weekend getaway destination, the activities are as varied as people's interests. The Woodmark Hotel is the perfect place to enjoy your favorite activities and an excellent opportunity to try new ones during your stay.

While you're a Woodmark guest, take a seasonal Lake Washington cruise aboard the Woodmark II, our 1956, 28-foot Chris-Craft Sedan Express. She is one of only 46 of her type built between 1956 and 1959, and she is every bit a classic from her retro design to her mahogany decks. Captain Rob was born and raised on Lake Washington and loves to share his tales of the Kirkland area. On your tour of the lake, Captain Rob will show you the local sites, including Yarrow Bay, Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, lakeside houses, the University of Washington, Montlake Cut, Portage Bay, the floating home made famous in "Sleepless in Seattle", the distinctive Seattle Skyline and the majestic Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. The Woodmark II Cruise is two hours in duration and has occupancy for up to six guests total. Pricing is $50 per person for hotel guests, $65 per person for those that are not guests. This is also the perfect opportunity for special occasions and honeymoons.

For available cruise times and reservations, please call guest services at (425) 822 3700 or contact us. Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours in advance (with exception to weather-related cancellations).

You're also welcome to explore Lake Washington in our single- or double-seated kayaks available at our Kirkland marina. We suggest the short paddle to the Yarrow Bay Wetlands, a 66-acre urban wildlife preserve just south of Carillon Point, or you can head five miles north to the Juanita Bay Wetlands. Kayak rentals are complimentary for guests and can be reserved for up to four hours. For those that are not guests, one-person kayaks can be rented for $19 an hour, or a two-person kayak can be rented for $24 an hour.

The Woodmark also has four complimentary beach cruisers available for guests to use. These cruisers are equipped with a basket and are perfect for a trip into Kirkland or just to see the sights along Lake Washington Boulevard. Our Beach Cruisers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis from dawn until dusk, weather permitting.
