Who can take swim lessons?
Any Suncadia or Tumble Creek Member, and any guest with access to the Swim and Fitness Facility may take swim lessons with us.
How old do you have to be to do lessons?
Students must be at least 2 years of age. There is no age maximum, everyone is welcome. All lessons for children under the age of 16 must take place after 10 am.
What kinds of swim lessons do we offer?
We offer Private (individual) and Semi-Private (2-3 people) Lessons. If the lesson is Semi-Private, we ask that each of the students be at around the same skill level. This is so that the student’s get the correct instruction and practice time needed, without time being wasted on skills already known or that are too advanced.
What is taught and how long is each lesson?
Each 30 minute lesson is catered individually to each student. The focus of each lesson will depend on the ability level of each student, along with what each person wants to get out of the lessons. For example, lessons with smaller children tend to focus more on floating and survival swimming such as crawl stroke and back stroke; older children will generally build on these skills, improving their techniques, while adding new strokes such as breast stroke and butterfly. Adults who chose to take private lessons dictate what they want to work and focus on, whether it is learning to swim, or improving skills.
