Snowshoe Adventures

Join our guides for a winter wonderland trek as you snowshoe to different Stowe, Vermont destinations in search of your adventure. Experience a glittery starry night at the top of Smugglers Notch. Bask in the glow of the moon on open terrain. Hunt for a frozen waterfall buried in the forest. All tours average 2 hours in length and include Hot Apple Cider or Hot Cocoa. Morning, afternoon, and evening tours are offered.

Ice Climbing

For the true adventurer, experience ice climbing for the first time on an incredible tour with Sunrise Mountain Guides. The focus will be on climbs for every ability level. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are new to the sport, focusing on safety, communication, technique and a variety of equipment. All equipment included.


Dog Sledding

Daytime dogsled tours are run on trails that flow over rolling terrain through gorgeous views for a total of five miles. Heading out to a remote lake, Little Elmore, and back to our starting area, guests will be thrilled on this two hour outing. You'll have time to meet the dogs, get situated in the sleds, get the dogs hooked up, and enjoy this 45 to an hour run. Afterward, you can take time to pass out treats to the dogs and enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate or tea.
Evening dogsled rides depart from the Inn at the Mountain near the base of the Toll Road. The trail is over rolling terrain and is a total of three miles through a combination of former cross­-country trails and current alpine trails. 

Horseback Trail Riding

Your trail ride will take you on a relaxing, serene tour through the hardwoods, on into a grove of Blue Spruce and then through the pristine open pastures. Views of Mount Mansfield will encompass you and take your breath away during this quintessential Vermont outing.

A full day of tours and fun spent in the Romantic City of Montréal, Canada. Ride into the historic Old Port dating back to 1642. Enjoy a visit through Chinatown. Check out the excitement of Crescent Street and the Bell Center. Tours include a visit to the legendary 76 Olympic Park and the Olympic pools, including "The Bio Dome." Enjoy an extraordinary meal at the famed restaurant Bonaparte in Old Montréal. Time is included to shop or browse in the world's largest underground city or ride to the top of Montreal's highest peak in Mount Royal Park.

Furniture Making

Turner Mill Timbers produces rustic log furniture made of yellow birch harvested from the Ranch Valley, "the birthplace of skiing" in Stowe, Vermont. Learn basic woodworking, joinery and finish techniques to produce one­-of­-a­-kind rustic log furniture that you can take home with you at the completion of the course! Students will also learn basic woodworking skills using hand tools including hand saws, electric drills and sanders. The course will cover sustainable harvesting of logs, drying, moisture content, project design, stock selection, layout, joinery and finish. No prior woodworking experience required.

Cross Country Skiing

The Cross Country Center at Stowe Mountain Resort features nordic skiing and snowshoe hiking. Hours of operation are 8:30am to 4:30pm daily throughout ski season.
