What comes to mind when you hear the words “après ski?” A crackling wood fire perhaps, good conversation with friends, and maybe a steamy hot signature cocktail showcasing the flavors of Vermont?
Each winter, Hourglass Lounge becomes the perfect spot to enjoy inspired cocktails and light fare following an exciting day on the slopes. The secret that makes the Hourglass experience so memorable lies in the innovation behind these drinks. We sat down with lead bartender Brent Miller, who explained the care that goes into creating beverages that go beyond. “It really comes down to the quality of our ingredients,” Miller said. “We squeeze fruit juices for our cocktails fresh every morning.” Many of the unique cocktails featured at Hourglass have also incorporated fresh herbs, house-infused aromatic bitters, and just a little extra prep-time to ensure that every creation is a luxury in itself.
Featured on the menu right now is the Kentucky Hollow, a lovely winter-weather cocktail that can be enjoyed hot or cold. This delicious treat combines local apple cider from Cold Hollow in Waterbury, VT, with smooth Buffalo Trace Bourbon, lemon garnish and spicy ginger liqueur. A crowd pleaser, this delightfully warming drink has been a favorite on the winter menu for the past 3 years.
