Executive Chef Steven Sterritt joined The Artisan in November 2015 and has since put his own touch on the Snowmass Village restaurant's reputable mountain cuisine.
His love of the mountains, their culture and cuisine, and ultimately, the cooking methods that most deeply resonate with people who come to the mountains, is reflected in the seasonal menus that he creates for The Artisan. Guests of this comfortable, casual eatery tucked inside the Stonebridge Inn are delighted by the balance in the handcrafted, seasonally-inspired, and locally-sourced selections. Equally at ease creating a signature burger as he is putting his own twist on The Artisan's Signature Ruby Red Trout, Chef Sterritt has created an overall menu that appeals to anyone looking for a good meal to be enjoyed with good company.
A native of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Chef Steven Sterritt attended Culinary School at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, then headed to Telluride before landing in Snowmass Village at The Snowmass Club. He then spent time on the East Coast, in Sequoia National Park, and in Geneva, before returning to Vail, eventually taking the reigns at Buffalo's Restaurant inside The Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch in Beaver Creek.
Returning to the Aspen Snowmass area to take over The Artisan has been a homecoming of sorts for Chef Sterritt, and we are happy to welcome him to our corner of the Roaring Fork Valley. His consistency in the kitchen, dedication to using locally sourced ingredients, and passion for mountain cuisine combine in the most wonderful ways on the plate, often treating guests to the best meal of their stay in Snowmass Village.
