his new leadership role at mountain resort
LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (January 7, 2020) – Resort at Squaw Creek, a luxury California resort nestled in the heart of Squaw Valley, is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Gooding as the Resort’s general manager. With more than 25 years of leadership experience in hotel operations, Gooding joins Resort at Squaw Creek after serving in senior executive hospitality roles for the past 15 years.
“After years of traveling the world and living in various regions, I am thrilled to call the majestic mountains of Tahoe my new home,” said Gooding. “Being in hospitality, I have especially enjoyed connecting with guests and staff, including the local community, and I look forward to working alongside the Resort at Squaw Creek team, providing incredible services and amenities in this idyllic natural setting.”
Gooding began his career as banquet bartender at Westin Bristol Place in Toronto and worked his way up to hotel manager before moving stateside in 2005. Most recently, Gooding worked as Vice President/Area Managing director for The Wigwam Arizona, providing strategic leadership skills for the 331-room Arizona Landmark Resort before serving as vice president of operations at Pyramid Hotel Group.
“I value the dynamic energy of the hospitality industry, in which I’ve discovered that no two days are the same,” says Gooding.
In his new role, Gooding will oversee hotel operations for the luxury California resort destination, including its 405 rooms and suites, six on-site restaurants, championship golf course and luxury spa, in addition to overseeing staff and guest services, driving operational efficiency, and employee engagement.
