Resort at Squaw Creek's Recreation Center offers an array of summer activities in North Lake Tahoe.

Whether you are a first time guest in the world-renowned Olympic Valley, or you’re returning to your home away from home, we have a plethora of brand new activities and experiences. From tie-dye, to hiking the Shirley Canyon trail, to trivia and glow golf, there is sure to be an experience you’ll remember until you visit us again.

Bike rentals, repairs and tunes open to public

Bike Rentals
Squaw Creek offers a variety of hiking and bike riding terrain. Choose from beginner trails, and mountain peaks, to bike paths that follow the Truckee River to Lake Tahoe.

Basic Bike Tune
Single Speed $30 | Multi-Speed $45

  • Adjust brakes (no hydraulic brakes)
  • Adjust front and rear derailleurs
  • Check tires and tubes for damage and proper pressure
  • Minor truing of wheels
  • Clean and lube chain
  • Check and tighten: crankset bolts, pedals, stem bolts, brake levers, headset tension, seatpost bolt or quick-release, axle bolts or axle quick releases
  • Test ride

All repair prices are estimates and may increase or decrease depending on our mechanic’s findings. Unfortunately, we are unable to bleed or adjust hydraulic brakes. Additional fees will be applied for extra parts or installation, excessively dirty bikes, tubes not holding air, tubeless tires not holding air.

Guided Tours

Bike and Float*

Bike 3 miles to Alpine Meadows, hop on a shuttle to the Truckee River, launch your raft and enjoy a relaxing float down the river before biking back to the resort. Children must be able to bike and swim proficiently. Pull behind trailers are available for small children. Price: Adult $160/Child $125/Under 5 $50

Stargazing
W, Fr 9pm-10:30pm | 1.5 hrs | All ages
Come gaze into the vast beyond and learn about constellations, the history of reading stars, and perhaps a bit about your astrological sign. Price: Adults $25/Children $15

Shirley Canyon Hike*
Th, Fr 9:30am-3pm |5.5 hrs | Ages 10+
Hike up the famous Shirley Canyon for amazing vistas of massive Lake Tahoe while strolling past wildflowers, waterfalls and granite walls. Take the tram down after this 3.6 mile moderate hike with a gain of nearly 1,400’ in elevation! Children under the age of 10 allowed in backpack carriers only. Price: Adult $80/Ages 10-14 $50 Price includes trail lunch and naturalist guide.

Eagle’s Nest Summit*
M 9am-4:30pm|8 hrs|Ages 13 and up
This difficult hike is extremely rewarding and has an amazing bird’s eye view of Lake Tahoe. This strenuous hike will gain nearly 1,990’ in elevation and is about 10.5 miles round trip.

Peddle & Paddle
Th, Sa 9:30am-3pm | 5.5 hrs | All ages
Bike approximately 6 miles to Lake Tahoe via the scenic Truckee River Bike Trail before enjoying some time on paddle boards. Soak up Tahoe’s beauty as you enjoy lunch on the lake. Children must be able to bike and swim proficiently. Pull behind trailers are available for small children.
Price: Adult $160/Child $125/Under 5 $50 Includes bike rental, stand up paddle board rental and lunch.

Trails and Tales
Tu, W, Sa 11am-12pm |1 hr | All ages
This 1.5 mile leisurely walk has wonderful information about the Tahoe ecosystem! Learn about the history of the Olympic Valley, flora, fauna, and Squaw Valley folklore.
Price: Adult $15/Child $10/Under 5 free

Sierra Sunset Vista
Tu, Th, Sa 7:30pm-9pm |1.5 hrs | All ages
  A short walk onto our golf course will place you right in the middle of the Olympic Valley. Watch a beautiful sunset while learning about the history of the valley. Snack on some of our favorite cheeses and local wines!
