And in any other place that wouldn’t be a good thing, but here, it’s a great thing! Spring skiing has arrived and Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows declared that not only will they be operating strong through the spring, but that they are extending their ski season through July. Rumor even has it that Squaw Valley is going for a year-round ski season.
What does this mean for you? You can come up for the weekend in April and May and the ski areas will still be blanketed in snow. So pull out your sunglasses, don a tee shirt, and buckle up your ski boots so you can reap the benefits of Lake Tahoe’s biggest snow year on record. In addition to skiing, mix up your vacation sports with mountain biking, hiking (this time of year is the best time to hike alongside the waterfalls in Shirley Canyon), or a peaceful jog along the bike paths of North Lake Tahoe.
Après ski in the spring means drinks on Lake Tahoe. Post drinks, you can paddleboard or kayak while you watch the sunset. If you’re staying here at the resort, hike along our nature trail followed by a soak in our outdoor hot tubs overlooking the mountains of Squaw Valley.
Spring into Tahoe this month, and enjoy life as it should be…happy with fun and ease.
