There’s nothing better than adventuring with Dad in Lake Tahoe for Father’s Day! Here are some suggestions for guiding Dad around North Lake Tahoe for an experience he won’t forget.
Reserve a Private Fly Fishing lesson
Whether Dad is a seasoned fly fishing veteran looking to brush up on skills, or new to the sport, local Instructor Matt Heron offers a variety of classes tailored to fit anyone’s skill level. Reserve lessons that launch right from Resort at Squaw Creek and fish on the private pond. There is no better way to spend some quality time with Dad.
Tahoe City Wine Classic
Technically held the Saturday before Father’s Day Sunday, the Tahoe City Wine Classic is a great way to check out the town and try flavors of the area. A dozen or so tasting stations are setup in the town and allow participates to try local food paired with a specific wine. PLUS Resort at Squaw Creek will be hosting a booth at the event, featuring the newly reopened Montagna!
Mountain Bike the Flume Trail
Looking for something a bit more adventurous to do with Dad? Take him on the well-known Tahoe Flume Trail! A 14 mile ride has about 1,000’ of elevation gain over the first 4.5 miles and features some of the best views of Lake Tahoe. After the climb the trail traverses several steep drop offs – if you are afraid of heights this might not be the right ride for you. There are several bike shuttle services in the area that allow you to forget about the hassle of shuttling cars.
Bike and Float
Experience the ultimate Lake Tahoe adventure with the Resort at Squaw Creek’s Bike and Float Package. Bike with Dad approximately 3 miles to Alpine Meadows, hop on a shuttle to the Truckee River, launch your raft and enjoy a relaxing float down the river before biking back.
There are endless ways to bring Dad out to experience Lake Tahoe, but whatever you end up doing with Dad make the day about him!
