Spring is in the air here in Olympic Valley! With upwards of 18 feet of new snow delivered to the mountains in the month of March alone, the skies have finally cleared and the sun looks like it is here to stay. The ten-day forecast shows lots of sun and mild temperatures in the low 50’s that will make for some amazing spring skiing and with Easter less than a week away the conditions couldn’t be any better! To celebrate the good weather and Easter, we are having a week filled with great events for the whole family.
Sunset and Full Moon Snowshoe Tours:
This entire week recreation is putting on Sunset Snowshoe Tours. They are a super fun way to end the day with the family and get the opportunity to experience the famous Lake Tahoe Alpenglow, or the stunning red and pink light of the setting sun that is only visible in the high mountains.
Also on Easter Sunday, we will be hosting a Full Moon Snowshoe Tour that is always a great time. Departing from the resort about 35 minutes before the moon rises you are able to enjoy the full moon and stars out away from the lights of the resort. It is a great event for family or a very romantic evening with your special someone!
Glow Golf:
After a fun day of spring skiing, end your night with a fun family game of Glow Golf. Every night our Glow Golf course will be set up at the resort and you can go and play a couple of rounds of glow in the dark mini putt! You can event build and play your own hole!
Yoga:
When the weather is this nice, nothing is better than some yoga. On Friday and Saturday at 5 pm our Yin “Wine Down” Yoga is a great way to get the night started and the best part is that at the end of the class you get a complimentary glass of wine! If evening yoga is not your thing then join us at 8 am on Saturday for Vinyasa yoga and get your body ready for a day of spring skiing. Our Align and Shine yoga will take place at 8 am on Sunday to help relieve some aches and pains from skiing the day before.
Little Chefs and Mixology:
On Saturday our Culinary Team will give everyone in the family a chance to have some fun and maybe even learn something new! At 2 pm our Executive Chef is hosting the Little Chef’s pizza making class that lets children six and younger into the kitchen and handcraft their own pizza and then eat it!
After Little Chef’s the adults can have some fun at our Mixology class taught by our Lead Bartender in Six Peaks. In the Mixology class you can learn how to make some of our specialty cocktails and the best part is you get to drink every drink you make!
Easter Sunday:
On Easter Sunday the resort is has a full day of great events for everyone to enjoy starting with the Out Door Easter Egg Hunt at 10 am for children five and under and then 10:30 am for children 6 thru 12. Next is our Easter Brunch in Six Peak’s at 11 am that will be full of fantastic specialty dishes like Dill Cured Salmon, blueberry and buttermilk pancakes, Bavette steak and eggs, and chocolate and red velvet whoopee pies. Finally, at 3:30 pm there will be the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt in our pool where participants can exchange eggs for Easter treats. One Golden Egg is hiding at each egg hunt. Find this egg to win a giant chocolate bunny! Please note that the Easter Egg Hunts are for resort guests only.
