Winter Sports

In the winter, it's ski time - downhill, cross-country and snowboarding. Mt. Hood is a massive winter activity playground for snow sports, whether you're strapping on skis, snowshoes, or a snowboard.

MT. HOOD MEADOWS SKI RESORT

Largest night ski area in the United States, also with day skiing, cross-country and snowboarding, multiple chairlifts. Located off Oregon Highway 35 east of the Highway 26 junction. All day adult passes are $74 or $59 for half day. Children and seniors are $44 for all day. Group discounts available to groups of 15 or more people. Plenty of summer hiking, too. COOPER SPUR SKI AREA

Family-oriented resort on the north side of Mt. Hood overlooking the Hood River Valley. Resort opened winter of 2000-01 with downhill, cross-country, snowboarding and snowshoeing. Rope-tow, T-bar, and chairlift. Adult passes are $25, children and seniors are $20. Great place for families and beginners! (541) 352-7803.

SUMMIT SKI AREA

Oldest ski area in the Pacific Northwest, and the first on Mt. Hood, established in 1927. Skiing, family tubing, cross-country and more. Located at the east end of Government Camp on Oregon Highway 26. $35 for adult passes, $25 for children, and $30 for equipment rentals. Groups 15 and over are required to make winter activity reservations by calling (503) 272-0256.

MT. HOOD SKI BOWL

Chairlifts and surface tows, dual alpine slide, miniature golf, mountain bike park and more. Located at 87000 East Highway 26 at Government Camp. $49 for adult passes and $29 for children. (503) 272-3206, (503) 222-BOWL

CROSS-COUNTRY

All the major resorts around Mt. Hood offer cross-country opportunities, and these also extend to other areas of the mountain.

SNOWSHOE

Snowshoe trips provide the opportunity for great exercise, learning, and having an excellent outdoor experience.  With Snowshoe Adventures by Mount St. Helens Institute, you will explore Mount St. Helens' amazing outdoors with us and learn what makes this volcano so special! 

Mount St. Helens Institute offers snowshoe rentals and all of their snowshoe adventures have trained guides. Summit Ski Area

Cooper Spur Ski Area
Adult passes are $25, children and seniors are $20. For shuttle options, please call 541.352.7803.

Mt. Hood Meadows
