Biking

The Columbia River Gorge, navigated more than 200 years ago by Lewis and Clark, is the crown jewel of the Pacific Northwest. Ride past the world's greatest concentration of waterfalls, many of which plunge hundreds of feet in a captivating display of nature's power. Snowcapped peaks tower majestically above glacial lakes, lush forest, and fields of wildflowers that highlight our trip.

Skamania Lodge is just 45 minutes from Portland, Oregon the city Bicycling Magazine named tops in the US for bicycling. Stunning vistas highlight rides along the Columbia Gorge Historic Highway, a gorgeous two lane road and the first National Scenic Highway in the country. This winding two-lane route provides stunning views of the most scenic aspects of the Gorge and the river as it passes an array of spectacular waterfalls and awe-inspiring overlooks.

For cycling vacations, the region surrounding the Columbia River Gorge offers extensive opportunities to tour lightly traveled roads through amazing scenery. To the south lies majestic and glaciated Mt. Hood, Oregon's tallest peak. To the north, Washington's Mt. Adams forms an equally impressive backdrop. These impressive peaks are visible throughout your vacation.
