Leticia and Thomas were married in an intimate wedding at the Skamania Lodge Amphitheater followed by a reception on Meadow Patio where family and friends gathered to celebrate with the happy couple. The reception featured beautiful centerpieces by Bloomsbury of Kanaka Creek Farm and specialty linens from Skamania Lodge. There were many fun elements to the day including a surprise for Thomas that Leticia planned with the help of Skamania Lodge staff.
We caught up with Leticia a few weeks after the wedding to reflect on her special day and ask her a few questions about her experience with Skamania Lodge.
Why did you choose Skamania Lodge for your wedding venue?
The breathtaking views, wide open spaces and natural beauty of the NW is nestled here.
What was your favorite moment of the day?
There were TWO favorite moments. The first was my wedding present for my husband to be, I wanted to surprise him with a mariachi band. The look on his face was priceless as the mariachi's came walking up around the corner playing a romantic song behind him, at the same time that I began walking down the aisle. Our second favorite moment was when I was walking down the aisle with my children and suddenly out of nowhere a huge butterfly greeted my flower bouquet that I was holding, it was a very magical moment for us.
What traditions did you incorporate into your wedding day?
Being from Mexico, I would definitely say the mariachi band. They played the most romantic songs for us.
What was the best tasting bite of the night?
I'm not kidding when I say that our entire menu was equally delicious! The food was fresh! Meat exceptionally tender, fish was flaky, vegetables were tasty and the kids loved the hamburger and fries!
If you could sum up your day in three words what would those be?
Beautiful natural elegance!
Do you have any advice for a Skamania Lodge bride to be?
Trust and delegate. Know there's people that truly care about the success of your wedding day! It's a great team effort that you'll never regret!
What does the future hold for Mr. and Mrs. Knox?
A vacation house in Mexico, lots of traveling and exploring the world.
