Located in the heart of the city on East Second Street, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) presents exhibits of modern and contemporary art, design and architecture from around the world. If you time your visit just right, you can participate in some of the museum's events. Take part in an improv workshop, attend a book signing or enjoy some stand-up comedy. The museum is closed on Mondays and national holidays. There is a small admission fee for non-members, but children 15 and younger are always free, and the museum offers free admission on Thursdays and Friday and Saturday evenings after 5 p.m.
Discover the rich and vibrant cultures of the earliest inhabitants of the Southwest at the Heard Museum. Founded in 1929, it has come to be recognized internationally for its collections, exhibitions, events and educational programming which are focused on American Indians. As you plan your visit, be sure to include time for some of the museum's popular events, including First Fridays and the Indian Fair & Market. You can also visit the outdoor sculpture gardens, shop at the Heard Museum Shop and Books & More or stop for a nosh at the Courtyard Cafe. The Heard Museum is located on North Central Avenue, just a short drive from the best Scottsdale resorts, and it's open seven days per week except for national holidays.
Dubbed Arizona's new must-see attraction, Scottsdale's Museum of the West is dedicated to highlighting the past of the American West.
