At Last May Is Here!

The great pollen Armageddon has finally ended. The plants have finally given up swarming us with massive waves of green fog and the April monsoons have relented. All the plants have bloomed, it’s not too hot and the best events of the year are just ahead. Now that one of our favorite months is here we wanted to set you up with the perfect plan to kick off this gorgeous season in Richmond, VA;

May 4th – Arts in the Park: A gathering of 450 artists from all over the US to show off their talent. It’s a nationally-rated, juried art show which includes all sorts of art from jewelry, painting, or photography, it’s all going to be there. They’re celebrating their 48th Annual Arts in the park this year at the Carillon at Byrd Park, which is a sight to see and a historical landmark, itself.

May 17th - 19th- Riverrock: A cherished Richmond tradition right up there with Sham Rock the Block. A music-sports festival combo that goes on all weekend and a local holiday for Richmonders. There is nothing more on brand for RVA than the sports, music, and beer wrapped up in one. The event celebrates local musicians and sports of all kind (you really see some wild stuff!). It’s all going down at Brown’s Island this year starting May 17th.

May 19th – RVA Taco Festival: Presented by one of our very own local breweries, Hardywood. The taco festival is a great way to celebrate the world’s most versatile and delicious food, the taco. It’s free to attend and there will be plenty of beer and tacos available for purchase. Head to 2408-2410 Ownby Ln, Richmond to join in the party.

May 27th – Memorial Day: The official start of summer and a day of remembrance across the nation. Q Rooftop is hosting a kick-start to summer with a special Memorial Day BBQ; enjoy some grub and the perfect views of Richmond right here with us.

Hang in there! Summer is almost here and before you know it, we’ll be submitting heat survival guides. So for now enjoy this perfect transition weather, but always pack an emergency umbrella, and keep some allergy meds in your back pocket.
