5 MILES: Exit the property and turn left on Ingraham Street. After crossing the bridge, turn left on Riviera Drive and head down the stairs to the Bayside Walk. Turn right to follow this waterfront path before meeting up with West Mission Bay Drive. Head east on Mission Bay Drive up and over the bridge, and turn right on Dana Landing Road. Follow this street until it meets Ingraham Street, turn left to go over the bridge, and arrive back at the resort’s entry.
The best way to explore Mission Bay’s 4200 acres? Out on the water! Grab a stand-up paddleboard or kayak from the marina and complete the 2-mile loop around the island. After turning east and going under the Ingraham Bridge, a behind-the-scenes look at SeaWorld’s cirque stadium will come into view. Look over your shoulder as you continue to paddle (north now) between Paradise Point’s island and Fiesta Island for a view of downtown San Diego. Head under the bridge again and take a pit stop in Paradise Cove or outside your bayside room, or power through the last .5 miles back to the marina.
All less than two miles from Paradise Point, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, and Ocean Beach offer gentle surf ideal for learning through the Paradise Surf Academy. More seasoned surfers seeking coveted local breaks will enjoy spots like Windansea, which is one of San Diego’s most consistent due to the area’s steep ocean floor. The stunning red-rock shoreline of Sunset Cliffs offers up great conditions throughout the varying swell directions and tidal conditions.
Jump start your day with a stop at Bird Rock Coffee, an award-winning micro roaster located at the south end of La Jolla that only uses free-trade beans. Hungry? Head back south to Pacific Beach and grab a burrito from Taco Surf before going to Kate Sessions Park for lunch with a view. Cut through Ocean Beach to the red rock bluffs of Sunset Cliffs, where the surfing and – you guessed it – sunsets are equally epic. On your way back to Paradise Point, make a pit stop at Pizza Port or OB Noodle House for great local beers in a low-key setting.
Whether the occasion calls for a special, romantic dinner for two overlooking the glittering, moonlit Mission Bay or an island-inspired casual restaurant for the whole family, Paradise Point offers diverse dining options for San Diego locals and guests of our Mission Bay resort. Enjoy our signature beach restaurant Tidal, a laid-back dining experience at the waterfront Barefoot Bar & Grill, or quick eats at the poolside Tropics Cantina or Caveman Pizza Company.
Nestled in the lush, tropical foliage that surrounds Paradise Point's island resort is a premier spa vacation destination where exotic rituals from islands around the world and local San Diego influences collide.
