    North America’s largest operator of independent hotels designs new catering and conference service career development and training program

    Englewood, Colorado – January 21, 2016 – Destination Hotels, the largest operator of independent hotels, resorts and residences in the country, announces the launch of its new event designing program, entitled Destination Event Producers (DĒP – pronounced “deep”). Positioning Catering and Conference Service professionals within the Destination Hotels portfolio with a competitive advantage through their ability to design extraordinary experiences for customers and drive revenues for owners, DĒP is serving as a catalyst to evolve the event planning industry.

    DĒP aspires to create the industry’s Best-in-Class Conference Services professionals by providing invaluable experiences that both inspire employees and set the standard for excellence. By investing funds, resources and thousands of hours in the creation of an associate development program, Destination Hotels has positioned itself as a leading force in event planning. DĒP is also transforming what the industry expects from their event planners by resonating as the preferred event-designing organization that current and potential associates aspire to join. The DĒP program is founded upon five core commitments to ensure success including mastery, being individually empowered, authentically inspired and mind and body focused.

    “Destination Hotels’ Certified Destination Event Producer (CDĒP) designation is created to recognize high achieving and consistently outstanding performers through their commitment to ongoing development,” said André Fournier, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Destination Hotels. “This certification demonstrates to meeting planners, owners and the industry at large, Destination’s commitment to being the recognized leader in the Event Planning Industry.”

    To achieve the CDĒP Certification, employees must attend Destination Event Sales Bootcamp. Following this, the employee must receive ten star reviews from guests or planners annually and have a Revinate score of 95% or higher on “Likeliness to recommend,” also known as Net Promoter. Additionally, the employee has to attend three quarterly Keeping it Alive (KIA) webinars, complete 10 out of 12 KIA monthly modules, serve in a professional event planner role for a minimum of three years or produce over 100 events within Destination. Effective demonstration of ability to plan an innovative case study program is required.

    At Destination Hotels, the Catering and Conference Service Managers touch every style and size of event that takes place onsite. Overseeing more than the contracts, dining, layout, or BEOs, they produce innovative and experiential events for guests, from start to finish. This certification is designed to honor the important role of the Catering-Conference Service, Events Managers and recognize those who go above and beyond.  This certification will be a tool within Destination Hotels to honor top performing individuals and a method for meeting planners to know the brand’s commitment to events. CDĒP certified employees achieve their recognition for achieving this title through commitment to Destination’s brand pillars: Authentically Immersed, Service with a Story, Unscripted Discoveries, Individually Empowered and consistently high performance.
