The Patio at Night Pop-Up Opens April 18; Friday Bleu Bar Pop-Up Opens May 25

DEL MAR, Calif. (March 26, 2018) – KITCHEN 1540 at L’Auberge Del Mar, A Destination Hotel, will bring back its popular alfresco dinners, The Patio at Night Pop-up, starting Wednesday, April 18, continuing through the summer. Every Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m., Chef Nathan Lingle’s patio pop-up menus will be putting ever-changing, straight-from-the-farm ingredients up front and center. In addition, a new Friday afternoon Pop-up at Bleu Bar is the perfect way for guests and locals to wind down the week and springboard into the weekend – starting Memorial Day weekend and lasting through Labor Day weekend from 3 to 5 p.m. each Friday.

Starting April 18, Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Chef Nathan Lingle sources his starring ingredients for each pop-up menu from a farm truck brimming with spring and summer crops picked by regional farmers, and featured proteins are also locally sourced. Depending on any given day, the menu might offer small plates and shareables such as Speckled Romaine with strawberries, smoked blue cheese and malt vinaigrette and Burrata Cheese with grilled peaches, smoked almonds and arugula salad. Family plates and mains might be Cioppino with a tomato fennel broth, Lamb Porterhouse with broccoli rabe and chickpea ragu or Skuna Bay Salmon with corn and tomato succotash.

A special addition to this pop-up experience is Wine Wednesdays featuring market-priced bottles and no corkage fees. And, guests’ pups are welcome on The Patio where the canine set can savor bowls from the Baxter’s Bites menu with choices such as the Royal Treat of beef tenderloin, three grain salad and farmers market vegetables. Patio pop-up nights are alfresco, casual and romantically enhanced by local performers entertaining nightly.

The entrance to The Patio at Night Pop-up is from L’Auberge’s front drive or the resort’s amphitheater (no need to come into the hotel itself). Market lights strung overhead lead the way, and a chalkboard announces the day’s local farm menu. KITCHEN 1540’s patio invites guests to enjoy ocean breezes, private dining cabanas, fire pits, a waterfall, and alluring hanging lanterns.

Friday Pop-up at Bleu Bar
Starting May 25, Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m.

Its new Friday Pop-up perfectly transitions the wind down from the work week to the gear-up for the weekend with Sangria and tapas.
