New Fall Wine Menu at L'Auberge Del Mar

The excitement is just beginning for the Food & Beverage team at L’Auberge Del Mar.

With fall upon us, L'Auberge Del Mar has introduced a new wine program for the hotel, which includes roughly 40 new wines.

We added new wines by the glass such as St. Hillaire sparkling wine from France, the oldest sparkling wine in the world. According to urban legend, it's where Dom Perignon learned how to make champagne. We also added the famous Portland, Oregon Pinot Noir, Eola Hills Pinot Noir.  Another new wine is Llama Malbec, a 91 point wine that comes from a 107-year-old vineyard that’s only irrigation comes from snowmelt from the Andes.

For bottles, we added exciting California classics wines such as Truchard Chardonnay and Cabernet, Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Creek Zinfandel, and ZD Founders Reserve Pinot Noir. We also added a Macon Villages from Henri Perrusset, that Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate said should be on every wine list in the world. Another new bottle is Grange des Peres which is on the wine list of every 3 Michelin Star restaurant in France.

With the coming of Oktoberfest in San Diego from September 28th to October 7th, we have brought in some new German wines. We added a 2008 Riesling from Schloss-Schoenberg, a family that has been making wine from the same vineyards for the past 27 generations. There is a new Grand Cru Riesling from Reinhold Haart and a fun Alsatian Pinot Gris from Becker Family that is a smoked salmon color from light skin contact and goes wonderfully with fall foods.

Speaking of fall foods, Chef Collin is working on our new fall menu set to debut at beginning of October. After working with Dominique Crenn, one of only nine female Michelin Star Chefs in the world, and the only one in America, we know that Chef Collin will present to us, and our guests, a delicious and exciting menu.
