Whether you are playing golf in Northern Virginia, or anywhere, being an effective putter can help you trim strokes off of your score.
In this week's Golf Tip Tuesday from The Golf Club at Lansdowne near Washington, DC, let's focus on how to putt the ball in the proper direction, so you can sink more putts.
Start with working on three to five foot putts that are basically straight. Keep in mind, there are not perfectly straight putts!
Our goal is to be able to find a straight enough putt, so we can aim the putter head at the center of the cup and see if the ball rolls to that location.
This will build confidence in realizing that your are putting the ball in the desired direction.
Watch this golf tip and do the drill - and see if you gain confidence to sink more putts. Next time, we'll work on putting and distance control.
