Maui Fire Response & Updates

Last update 9/8/23 at 9am

Mahalo for your patience as we navigate the ongoing wildfire situation on Maui. The entire Maui community is devastated by the destruction and loss the island has witnessed and our team is working hard to ensure the safety of our colleagues, owners, and guests. We will update this page with new information as we receive it and send communications via email for guests and owners.

FOR GUESTS THAT WERE STAYING WITH US DURING THE FIRES AND EVACUATED

Please note that the county is not allowing the general public to travel into the town of Lahaina, only approved personnel. You will not be able to return to the Lahaina Shores to collect any personal items, baggage, etc. that you may have left behind before evacuating. As soon as we are able to gain access to the property, we will reach out to guests with a status on recovery of personal items left behind.

FOR ALL UPCOMING ARRIVALS:

At this time, access into the town of Lahaina is restricted to approved emergency response personnel only. We will be contacting all guests with pending reservations to advise on next steps. If you would like assistance rescheduling your trip please call our reservations team at 866-934-9176.

CELL PHONE TOWERS AND ELECTRICTY STILL DOWN

Power lines and cell phone towers have been down in most areas of West Maui since August 8th. Power has now been restored to all but 1,800 of the 12,400 customers who lost power in West Maui. Maui Electric has been working around the clock to repair infrastructure.

ROAD CLOSURES

The highway into West Maui through Ma'alaea is open to all motorists daily. Please note that you will not be able to access Lahaina town. The Maui Police Department will cite and tow vehicles parked along the Lahaina Bypass.

UNSAFE DRINKING WATER

Anyone in Lahaina should avoid drinking tap water. Bottled water should be used for all drinking, brushing teeth, ice making, and food preparation until further notice.

WHERE TO DONATE

In the wake of the devastating Maui wildfires, many of our dedicated Lahaina Shores Beach Resort ‘ohana have tragically lost their homes. These individuals have been the backbone of our beloved resort and now find themselves in dire need of support to rebuild their lives. We have set up a GoFundMe page that will support our staff.
