A little over an hour north of San Antonio lies Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, home to Enchanted Rock, a massive pink granite rock that has been attracting visitors for thousands of years. Local folklore ascribes magical and spiritual powers to the rock, but you will have to find out for yourself!
La Cantera Resort & Spa is perfectly placed to explore San Antonio’s natural beauty and history. Enjoy a run on the Leon Creek Greenway, the 13-mile long park just minutes away from the resort. Or pick up a copy of our running map and explore the area with routes mapped around the resort ranging from 3 to 5 miles. Perhaps wander downtown to explore the famed San Antonio River Walk, or check out the hip shopping and dining scene in The Pearl district. Stroll south through downtown towards San Antonio’s Missions, historically accredited under the World Heritage list for their outstanding universal value. Don’t forget to get a glimpse at the most historic site in all of Texas, The Alamo.
Between Hill Country antique shops, designer stores and culturally influenced markets, San Antonio is a shopping destination with something for everyone. Only minutes away from La Cantera Resort & Spa is The Shops at La Cantera, offering more than 150 luxury shops including four major department stores. Boerne, a small German town, offers the “Hill Country Mile” of shops along Main Street with a great combination of antiques and boutiques. If you are seeking the local culture of San Antonio, consider visiting the La Villita Historic Arts District downtown.
