Summer is quickly coming to an end which means the most wonderful time of year is near. Many companies and groups are already starting to plan for 2015 Holiday Parties, including the events team at La Cantera Resort.
To help prepare for this year’s holiday party season, the La Cantera Resort events team has compiled our favorite trends to expect for 2015.
1. Lounge Around
Part of the fun of holiday parties is getting to mingle and socialize with people in a more casual setting than the office normally provides. So ditch the seating chart and opt for lounge furniture around the space to encourage movement and interaction. More and more parties are featuring fun, stylish lounge furniture to create a relaxed and inviting vibe to all.
2. Have Fun with Stations
In addition to lounge furniture, having food and beverage stations verses a plated dinner can help create more interaction between guests. And be sure to get creative and in the holiday spirit with the options! Our favorite idea is to add a hot chocolate or egg nog bar with an assortment of fun toppings like whipped creamed, cinnamon, peppermint, sprinkles and caramel. You can even make it an “Adult Hot Chocolate Bar” by adding some fun liquors to the mix.
3. Get Social
Engage your guests before and during the event through social media. Whether you create a custom hashtag for your event (a service La Cantera Resort provides for you!) or rent our Instagram Printer to allow guests to have printouts of their own photos from the night, encouraging your guests to engage on social media will keep your party on trend this year. You can get creative with this concept as well, instead of having a traditional “Photos with Santa” setup, try “Selfies with Santa” and utilize La Cantera Resort’s social media digital content boards to display the photos at the party.
4. Focus on Giving
While everyone enjoys celebrating during the holiday season, it is also the season most focused on giving back. Whether you encourage a donation to the local food bank as admission to the party or have a “wrap battle” between different departments or groups to wrap gifts for local shelters or families, giving the party a higher purpose will create both a spirit of giving and a great sense of community among guests.
