Holiday Season in the Galleria
This past Saturday, unlucky for me, I didn’t get to stay at the hotel. But holiday shopping was still a major thing on my to-do list. I began the journey to the Galleria.
I drove from my house down Westheimer, quick wave to Hotel Derek on my right, then entered a nightmare parking situation in the parking garage near Neiman Marcus… EVERYONE from the Houston area and beyond flees to the Galleria during this time of year, so I was already mentally prepared. I joined the line of cars driving from aisle to aisle in hopes of seeing a parked car’s lights turn red and white and reverse out. 20 minutes later, victory.
The Galleria is literally a one stop shop for any kind of holiday shopping, so no surprise that it’s PACKED on a Saturday when most people are out of work. However, going where I needed to go was no problem. I was in a hurry so couldn’t stop and enjoy all the small music and dance performances stationed throughout the mall boosting everyone’s holiday spirits, but saw plenty of them via Snapchat from my friends who also braved the crowds.
Within an hour, my shopping was done and I was ready to head out and bless someone else with a parking spot.
All in all, the only difficult situation during my shopping trip to the Galleria was parking. Had I stayed at Hotel Derek which is walking distance away, that wouldn’t have been an issue. There’s even an awesome shopping package loaded up on the website called ALL WRAPPED UP. This package comes complete with chauffeured car service in the case you’re not up for taking the short walk in or the weather is a nuisance, a $50 Visa gift card so you can go beyond on your gifts this year, and hot coca & holiday sweets upon your arrival!
Accommodations with this package start at $149! Check out our All Wrapped Up holiday shopping package here.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
