Ride

Some of northern California’s most iconic experiences are just a short bus or train ride away. Light-rail is a convenient way to travel to Stanford University or get to an event at Levi’s Stadium. The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) and Caltrain provide service throughout much of Santa Clara County.

Levi's Stadium

The state-of-the-art stadium rising above Santa Clara is one of the most high-tech venues in the world. Home to the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers, the facility has welcomed a slew of major entertainers and events since opening in 2014, from international sporting events to world music tours, including Super Bowl 50 in 2016. Even if it’s not game day, visitors can take a guided tour of the facility, or stop by the 49ers Museum, which showcases gallery and exhibit space dedicated to the team’s past, present and future.

Lauded as one of the world's most prestigious institutions, this stunning campus is located in the heart of Silicon Valley. At more than 8,000 acres, “The Farm,” as the campus is affectionately nicknamed, is one of the largest in the United States, and welcomes more than 150,000 visitors annually. Free organized tours of campus are offered daily, granting a great overview of the university that has produced numerous Nobel laureates, political leaders and founders of Fortune 500 companies. Admission is free to the Cantor Arts Center, which is home to a diverse collection of exhibits that span more than 5,000 years of art history. It’s also home to the largest repository of Rodin bronze sculpture outside of Paris, including his famous work “The Thinker.” When you’re done touring, there are dozens of places on campus to dine and shop.
