Born in Los Angeles, California, Morgan moved to the Bay Area for school. A graduate in fine arts from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1991, Morgan has exhibited his artwork both domestically and internationally. His passion for the food and hospitality business has been consistent for over twenty years. Eighteen of those years have been spent as the General Manager and award-winning Wine Director for La Pastaia in the historic Hotel De Anza, where he also serves as the hotel’s Director of Food and Beverage. Morgan is also the author of the website Kitchen In Season.
With twenty years of experience in Bay Area kitchens, Juan Zaragoza has been with La Pastaia for more than ten years. He served as sous chef before being elevated to Executive Chef in 2010. Zaragoza’s dynamic menu highlights bold, Italian flavors in a California context, employing local, sustainable and seasonal ingredients.
