Vail Villages

Vail Villages are replete with great dining and shopping options, plus sweet playgrounds for the groms, ice rinks in winter, and they are each located just a few steps to each of Vail Gondolas. A perfect home base for your alpine adventures. Below are a few tips for how to best navigate each village.

Vail Village

Restaurants & Bars

There are so many options! The well-known Red Lion with its expansive outdoor seating, Vendetta's for incredible pizza, Sweet Basil and Left Bank for upscale dining, Pepi's for authentic Austrian cuisine, La Bottega and La Tour for Italian and French fare respectively, Slope Room and The George, plus casual food at Blu Cow or Joe's Deli, coffee at Two Arrows, craft whiskey at 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits, and sushi at Yama are just some of the options within the walkable confines of Vail Village. Eat somewhere new every night or find a favorite and stick with it.

Shopping

Well known brands adjacent to only-found-in-Vail-Village boutiques make the destination a favorite for casual and diehard shoppers alike. Refresh your essentials at global retailers like BurtonLululemon, and Patagonia, then pair them with one-of-a-kind finds from the Vail Village boutiques like PerchBlitz, and Karats.

Other things to do in Vail Village

Pirate Ship Park - every child should experience the magic of this custom built playground in the heart of Vail Village!

Colorado Snowsports Museum - exhibits that detail the birth, rise, and growth of skiing in Colorado.

Gore Creek - watch the kayakers run right through Vail Village (especially exciting during GoPro Games weekend!)

Lionshead Village

Restaurants

Vail's dining scene is as diverse and impressive as its terrain. You will find from a diner for breakfast, great casual spots for lunch, to incredible restaurants for dinner right outside your door.

Shopping

A buffet of retail therapy awaits in Lionshead! Global brands like Burton, Smartwool, Arc'teryx and more mix with Vail boutiques and fun spots for kids like the independently owned Rocket Fizz soda pop & candy shop.

Activities

Vail Square, in the center of Lionshead, features an ice rink in the winter. In summer, the space is used for concerts and small events.

Adjacent to Vail Square, Sunbird Park was named one of the world's coolest playgrounds by Travel & Leisure. Something akin to giant bird's nests, the playground is a perfect spot to get the wiggles out and includes an interactive water feature in summer.

Imagination Station is a hands-on children's museum in Lionshead with great indoor activities for kids.
