The countdown to skiing is on! Vail Mountain will open on November 15, 2019.
Vail Resorts announced thrilling news this summer regarding their investment in new snowmaking. With new snowmaking technologies at their disposal, Vail has guaranteed an opening day of November 15, 2019. Furthermore, they have ensured a pre-Thanksgiving opening day each year going forward. Over the next few years, Vail will be adding 200 acres of new and advanced snowmaking terrain, allowing for earlier access to terrain at higher elevation, earlier top-to-bottom skiing, and improved early-season ski school terrain. For this upcoming 2019-20 season new snowmaking will effect many popular runs including: Meadows, Swingsville, Bear Tree, Ramshorn, Cold Feet, Lodgepole, and the Gopher Hill beginner zone. This is fantastic news for those ready to get back on the mountain and gives guests the opportunity to vacation in Vail during the early season. Travelers will no longer have to wait until December for their favorite runs to be covered in snow! Passes can be purchased here.
