The Maui Film Festival (MFF) returns this week with another star-gazing film and culinary event lineup like no other. It’s an annual feast for the senses showcasing 20 Maui premiere films and 16 shorts over five days, and featuring the Taste of Summer (Wednesday, June 21), the Taste of Chocolate (Friday, June 23), and the Taste of Wailea (Saturday, June 24). This year, festival goers can expect to rub elbows with celebrity honorees: Connie Britton, Freida Pinto, Pierce Brosnan and Karen Gillan. Tickets range in price from $15 - $24 for a single film ticket, to $150 for a “Taste of” event plus the evening’s two feature films at the Celestial Cinema, to the all-in $725 splurge for the “Cosmos Pass” which allows access to the entire 5-day festival’s events.
Getting to and from Wailea’s Film Festival events and the Celestial Cinema takes a little planning – if you’re staying in the Wailea Resort area, the MFF Resort Shuttle is available upon request at the entrance of all resorts. If you’re a guest of Destination Residences Hawaii or Wailea Beach Villas, shuttle transportation is available by calling the Front Desk 808-891-6200 (or 808-495-4546 for Wailea Beach Villas). For those outside of the Wailea area, parking for the Celestial Cinema is located at the top of Wailea Iki Drive in the Wailea Resort Event Parking Lot. A free shuttle will run continuously beginning at 6:15 pm.
