Banana Bread Recipe

Nothing says comfort food like a warm loaf of banana bread fresh from the oven - and Hawaii is famous for it's delicious banana bread.  David, our guest experiences manager for Destination Residences Wailea shares his family banana bread recipe:  

David's Banana Bread


• 2 cups granulated sugar

• 2  sticks of butter (8 oz. total) 

• 4 large eggs 

• 6 ripened bananas, mashed

• 1/4 cup milk

• 2 tbsp vanilla

• 4 cups all purpose flour

• 2 tsp baking powder

• 2 tsp baking soda

• 2 tsp salt

• 2 tsp cinnamon

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together in a small bowl and set aside.  Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.  Add eggs one at a time until mixed.  Add mashed bananas, milk and vanilla and stir until mixed.  Blend in dry ingredients one cup at a time and stir until just mixed, do not over mix.  Fill generously buttered loaf pans to two-thirds full.  Bake until the crust is golden brown...and enjoy!
