Mountain Biking
With one of the best singletrack trail systems in the lower 48, Aspen Snowmass’ mountain biking trails range from the gravity-defying rush of world-class downhill to a gentle track through meadows bursting with wildflowers. Clinics, guided tours, and weekend events make this area one of the best up-and-coming bike destinations in the country.
Road Biking
Paved bike paths and serious road rides abound for those who prefer pavement beneath their two wheels. With routes to rival the Tour de France, and meandering paths between Snowmass and Aspen, it’s easy to think you’re in Europe as you pedal around.
Water Activities
Pristine waterways offer a breathtaking view of the Roaring Fork Valley. Local outfitters can hook you up with the gear and guides you need to get on the water for whitewater rafting, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding.
Aerial Adventure
Take in the view during a hot air balloon ride over the valley, or keep it a little simpler with scenic gondola and chairlift rides to the top of Snowmass Mountain.
Fly-Fishing
Explore Colorado’s unspoiled waters with a guide or on your own. Both the Roaring Fork River and the Fryingpan River have been designated Gold Medal Waters by the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Only 168 miles of Colorado’s 9,000 miles of trout streams have earned this distinction.
Horseback Riding
Follow meandering creeks toward their headwaters. Head into the Maroon Bells Wilderness. Enjoy unmatched views from beautiful high alpine basins and mountain passes. This is an excellent way to fully immerse yourself in the area’s pioneering spirit. Book a guided ride with Blazing Adventures, Snowmass Creek Outfitters, or T Lazy 7 Ranch.
