Mother Nature left nothing out when she created beautiful Aspen Snowmass and it’s tempting to spend every minute of your vacation outdoors. But when you’re ready for a change of pace, these cultural attractions might be just the ticket.
Snowmass Arts Trail
The Snowmass Arts Trail expresses our town’s appreciation for community, self-expression and celebration of life through public art. It links all areas of the town with a shared space of connectivity. Walk the trail to see work from emerging local artists and pieces by nationally known sculptors on display.
Ice Age Discovery Center
In October 2010, a bulldozer operator working in Snowmass Village at Ziegler Reservoir uncovered the tusk of a young female mammoth. Over the next 10 months, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science conducted its largest-ever fossil excavation, yielding a treasure trove of well-preserved Ice Age fossils. Discover the fossils for yourself at the Ice Age Discovery Center in the Snowmass Mall.
Aspen Center for Environmental Studies
With four locations in the Roaring Fork Valley, the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies offers a wealth of opportunities to learn about the local environment year-round. From guided hikes and snowshoe tours to fun events for the whole family, ACES is a hub for environmental education in the region.
This authentic western event takes place every Wednesday evening in the summer through mid-August and features events for little kids on up. There is also a fantastic BBQ each night. If you are coming to Snowmass in the summer, do not miss the chance to make an evening of it.
Anderson Ranch Arts Center
Situated on a breathtaking 4.5-square-acre campus with renovated artist studios scattered throughout historic buildings, Anderson Ranch is one of Snowmass’ hidden gems. Visitors here can enjoy gallery exhibitions, regular artist and critic lectures, workshops, and special events throughout the year. The Ranch also has an excellent gift shop with arts supplies and original works by residents for sale.
Aspen Art Museum
Just 15 minutes from Snowmass in a stunning new facility downtown, the Aspen Art Museum features the most recent and important evolutions in international contemporary art. In addition to a variety of unique exhibits by internationally acclaimed artists, the Museum offers lectures, artist talks, screenings, performances, and family-friendly events throughout the year.
Aspen Saturday Market
A Saturday morning tradition, the market showcases Colorado grown, made, and produced items including food, art, crafts, clothing, and more.
In winter, cozy up in the lounge, relax at the bar, or sit down to a locally sourced, handcrafted menu. In summer, enjoy the Colorado sunshine and dine al fresco on the secluded outdoor patio.Reserve a Table
