Dog Sledding
Kids love the thrill of the ride and the connection they make with the dogs. A fantastic way to explore the wilderness, and to create memories to last a lifetime. The winding trails, experienced drivers and comfortable sleds of Krabloonik combine to make this winter excursion one of the best in Snowmass.
Ice Skating
Snowmass offers a free community-supported ice-skating rink at the Snowmass Rodeo Grounds on Brush Creek Road. There is also free ice-skating at the Base Village Ice Skating Rink, including free rentals, from 12:00 - 9:00 p.m. daily.
Rock Climbing Wall
Open in Snowmass Base Village from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m. daily, the Climbing Wall offers 3 lanes and a maximum height of 50 feet. Up to six people can climb at once. Tickets can be purchased at any Snowmass ticket window and are $10 for 30 minutes and $5 per extra session when purchased at the same time.
The Collective
The epicenter of Snowmass' newest neighborhood, Snowmass Base Village, the Collective offers guests and residents aplace to gather, eat, drink, skate, play, learn and more!
Water Activities
Kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, or white-water rafting are all family friendly ways to get out on the waterways of the Roaring Fork Valley. Local outfitters and guide services can set you up with everything you need.
Horseback Riding
Immerse your family in the area's pioneering spirit while you follow meandering creeks toward their headwaters, head into the Maroon Bells Wilderness, or simply enjoy the unmatched views from beautiful high alpine basins and mountain passes.
Hiking
Surrounded by 2.3 million acres of the White River National Forest, Snowmass boasts some of the western United States' best hiking trails. Many trail heads are right in Snowmass Village.
Aspen Center for Environmental Studies
From guided wildflower hikes in summer and snowshoe tours in winter to fun events for the whole family all year-round, ACES is a hub for environmental education in the region. The Potbelly Perspectives are perfect for growing adventurers, while the Naturalist Nights will feed your children's interest in the world around them.
Kids Treehouse Adventure Center and Camp Aspen Snowmass
A multi-level, 2,300 square meter childcare facility in the center of Snowmass Village, the Treehouse Adventure Center is every child's, and parent's, dream facility. In winter, children ages 8 weeks to 4 years old can play in the Colorado-themed play rooms, while older kids can venture out on the mountain in a group lesson. In summer, Camp Aspen Snowmass offers a variety of adventure activities to get kids exploring and learning outdoors. Child care also available.
