The epic snowfall of this past winter has created some of the best spring skiing in decades, but what about early summer activities? There are plenty of places to get outside in Aspen Snowmass before the last of the snow melts away on the peaks. Local outfitter Blazing Adventures has these recommendations.
Hiking on the Hunter Creek Trail, Sunnyside Trail, or the Rim Trail will be fabulous in early summer. These three favorites are the first to melt off and offer great views.
Early summer rafting on both the Roaring Fork and in Brown's Canyon will be quite the adventure this year, and will probably go later than usual into mid-July or so.
Jeep tours up Independence Pass, biking on both the Maroon Bells road and the Rio Grande Trail from Aspen to Woody Creek, fly fishing, and horseback riding will all be possible in late spring/early summer as well.
So really - all the things you love to do in summer in Snowmass will be available and awesome from the beginning of the season.
