Hawai'i Island’s Kilauea volcano has been the subject of a lot of media attention in the past weeks. With swirling reports featuring sensationalized coverage of the event, we wanted our guests to have the most up-to-date and factual information at their fingertips. Destination Residences Hawaii is open for business as usual. Maui and other islands (Oahu, Lanai, Molokai, and Kauai) are not affected by the active lava flow on the southeastern tip of Hawai’i Island.
Facts about the Kilauea eruption:
What does this mean for potential travelers to Maui:
There has been no change in any activities here on Maui. Visitors and locals alike are soaking in the tropical sunshine at the miles of golden sand beaches, playing ocean view rounds of golf, swimming under sparkling waterfalls, and hiking through the bamboo forest.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to our brothers and sisters effected by the Kilauea eruption on Hawai’i. Destination Residences Hawaii takes the well-being of its neighbors very seriously. In effort to help those displaced by the eruption, DRH has made donations to help the victims of the lava flow, and we continue to look for additional ways to contribute to ongoing efforts.
Officials will continue to closely monitor all activity surrounding the eruption. Please Click Here to visit the Hawaii Tourism Authority website for the most up-to-date visitor information.
We look forward to welcoming you home to Destination Residences Hawaii! If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our reservations team at (800) 367-5246.
