According to a press release from Vail Resorts their extensive snowmaking upgrades have ensured a pre-Thanksgiving opening day each year going forward. This is great news for travelers looking to come to Vail, Colorado, earlier in the season. For the next couple of years, Vail will be adding nearly 200 acres of new and advanced snowmaking terrain allowing earlier access to higher elevation terrain, improved early-season ski school terrain, and top-to-bottom skiing.
Early season travelers will not be the only group that benefits, visitors exploring the option of visiting a Vail Village Ski Resort in April will be happy to learn that this new snowmaking will help ensure better conditions later in the season. Construction of this new technology has been on-going this summer. For the upcoming 2019-20 season new snowmaking will effect the following runs: Swingsville Ridge, Swingsville, Meadows, Ramshorn, Bear Tree, Cold Feet, part of Upper Lion’s Way, Lodgepole, Coyote Crossing, Practice Parkway, Ledges, and improvements in the beginner zone Gopher Hill Lift.
