Have you ever wondered what it is like to live like a local in Vail? Are you seeking that one-of-a-kind, authentic, mountain experience? Then - this blog is for you!
Throughout the summer, we will highlight a week in Vail (and the Vail Valley) through our employee's eyes. We all love where we live, and we want to share our passions with you - our most loyal guests.
This week, we are featuring Mrs. Debbie Poole. Read on to see what she loves to do in a week in Vail!
Hello There, I’m Debbie Poole!! I am a former American Airlines Flight Attendant from New York, who moved to Vail 27 years ago to marry my now husband. This beautiful area provides the utmost in adventurous summer and winter activities. If you prefer a more relaxed itinerary: you may take in the international culture that Vail provides, pamper yourself with luxurious Spa treatments or browse through the world class shops. Your visit to The Vail Valley will leave you with a lifetime of treasured memories. ENJOY your stay!!
Hot Air ballooning over the beautiful Vail Valley is a terrific way to begin your adventurous vacation. Watching the sunrise, in a colorful Hot Air Balloon, and then enjoy champagne and snacks after landing is a panoramic way to start your day. Make a day on the water as you experience a White Water Rafting Tour. You can feel the refreshing slash on your face and body as you challenge Dowd Chute or enjoy a more relaxing float along Gore Creek.
Renting bicycles and “flying down” Vail Pass is a “Must Do”! Imagine yourself at 10,000 feet at the top of Vail Pass and descending on the Gore Creek bike path. You will view cascading waterfalls, wildflowers at their best and quite possibly, wildlife.
Explore Vail Mountain by riding the scenic Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead to Eagle’s Nest at the top of the mountain. The vistas are just stunning and there are plenty of activities for the entire family. There is a climbing wall, bungee trampoline, alpine coaster, tubing, zip-ling, mini golf and much more! FUN for all Ages! https://www.vail.com/info/epic-discovery.aspx
Horseback Riding is a very popular summer pastime while vacationing in Vail. The trails may take you through aspen groves, open meadows and thick forests. The sweeping views of the surrounding area will certainly leave you breathless. For more information, visit https://vailstables.com/
July 29th is the kick-off for the incredible Vail Dance Festival, which is one of my favorite festivals to attend, runs through August 12th. One of the venues is the gorgeous Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, which is the perfect backdrop for the versatile performances of these internationally renowned dancers. For more event information, please visit http://vaildance.org/
Sundays is for brunching! My favorite spot to enjoy is at Ludwig’s Terrace in the Sonnenalp Resort. It is a YUMMY beginning to your morning away from home. It features an impressive spread of food, mimosas and bloody mary’s! The view overlooking Gore Creek is simply amazing. This is one of Vail Valley’s TOP brunch spots and likely I’ll meet you at Ludwig’s.
We hope you enjoyed joining Debbie on a week in Vail. We hope to welcome you here this summer to experience these mountain adventures yourself!
