Why You Should Visit Hilo Farmers Market

There’s more to Hawaii than great beaches

Widely considered one of the best farmers markets in the country, and located in historic downtown Hilo, the Hilo Farmers Market is a must-see when exploring the Big Island. Try to visit on a Wednesday or Saturday, which are considered “market days.” Then, you’ll get to see over an incredible 200 local local farmers selling an vast array of tropical fruits (like lilikoi, white pineapple, and papaya), fresh vegetables, and prepared foods, Local crafters and artisans are also on site, with unique items such as whale bone necklaces, Koa wood carvings, and hand-printed sarongs. And don’t forget to bring your appetite, as there’s plenty of delicious (and affordable) food vendors, too!
