Vail’s Best Hot Chocolates

Where to sip the sweet treat

We’ll take any excuse to treat ourselves to a piping mug of hot chocolate – especially during this time of year. And thankfully, there’s lots of terrific spots in the popular wintry destination of Vail to indulge in the liquid treat. The version turned out at Yeti’s Grind is smooth, perfectly balanced, and not cloyingly sweet. Even better? There’s oat and almond milk available if you’re dairy-free. With a name like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, you know you’re in for something extra special. While the signature Rocky Mountain Chocolate Cocoa is well-suited for purists, try the Belgian White Cocoa or European Dark Chocolate Cocoa for a fun twist. Meanwhile, the positively pretty Two Arrows Coffee & Bar – which doubles up as a cafe during the day, and wine bar at night – whips up a cocoa that’s particularly rich and chocolatey. (You can bump it up with a shot of vanilla or caramel syrup, if you wish.)
