Vail’s Best Coffee

A guide to the ski destination’s top coffee

Starbucks is readily available in Vail, but why not sip something with more local flair? With two locations (one in Vail proper, and another in neighboring Avon), Loaded Joe’s is a convenient way to get your caffeine fix. The Vail output is low-key and humble, ideal for a quick perk and bite. (The breakfast sandwiches are especially solid.) And the Avon location, with a bigger kitchen, offers a larger breakfast and lunch menu. But if it’s mountain views you’re after, check out Yeti’s Grind in Vail Village, which pairs bracing espresso drinks with hearty bites, like the best-selling green chile breakfast burritos. The newest kid on the block, Two Arrows Coffee Co, shares space with Root & Flower. During the day, it turns out exceptional coffee, and come night, pours terrific wines.
