Where to find Phoenix’s best farm-fresh produce, and more
What was once the old Rio Salado Golf Course has been lovingly transformed into Singh Meadows, a 70-acre organic farm and a lively community hub – proving that Phoenix deserts, too, are capable of growing topnotch produce.
The Saturday famers market – where you can purchase everything from local honey to heirloom tomatoes – is hugely popular amongst locals, as is the on-site restaurant and juice bar. Headed up by talented chef Sasha Levine, the kitchen specializes in flavorful vegetarian fare from all over the world (think Thai curry bowls with market vegetables, smoked salmon tartines, and Indian breakfast tacos). The vegetables grown at Singh are so wonderful, in fact, that many of the area’s top restaurants regularly source them.
