Indie Shops You Can’t Miss In Miami
Skip the department stores and support these small businesses
Miami has no shortage of bold-faced department stories and glitzy boutiques, but it also offers plenty of unique, independently-owned shops, too. Below is a shortlist of some our favorites.
Plant the Future
Located in Wynwood Arts District, this white, airy oasis by founder Paloma Teppa specializes in all things green to brighten your home. You’ll find succulents, orchids and whimsical sculptures chicly arranged in gallery-like fashion.
Much more than just a record shop, the Little Haiti shop is also a buzzy cafe – they use locally-roasted Panther Coffee beans – and a lively event space (think live DJ sets, performances from up-and-coming bands, and stand up comedy.)
Owned by a husband and wife team, this charming boutique stocks its shelves with letterpress cards from independently-owned brands like Geronimo Balloons and Gold Teeth Brooklyn, in addition to making their own Miami-inspired stationery. Calligraphy classes are offered, if you want to really wow your next letter recipient.
This is a vintage lovers’ destination and fashion treasure hunt rolled in one. And it’s where costume designers, celebrities, and stylists alike patiently browse through meticulously merchandised items from the most coveted brands, including Chanel, YSL, and Manolo Blahnik.
